WHAT’S THE BEST FOOD FOR YOU ACCORDING TO YOUR BLOOD TYPE?

Your blood type tells so much about yourself. From your character and temperament, to your affinity towards weather, your food cravings etc.

There are four blood types in the world: A, B, AB and O, and all of them can be either positive or negative. The best diet you could get is the one that’s based on your blood type.

When this fact became popular, people paid tons of money to nutritionists to get prescribed with a diet based solely on them. This all became really popular back in the 1996, when Dr.  Peter D’Adamo, a naturopathic physician released his book called “Eat right for your type”.

This book became a New York bestseller overnight. However, today it is statistically recorded that the long-term results of these diets are simply not a fact – they’re true for someone, and also false for others.

But, there are benefits of “eating your blood type”:

  • Reduced risk for getting diseases
  • Increased energy levels
  • Keeping a healthy gut

What should you eat if you’re a blood type A?

For A blood types, it is recommended to avoid most diary based products, such as milk, cheese, yoghurt, cream cheese and so on. You should avoid gluten as well.

But on the bright side, this blood type is the best at breaking down carbs – so you are the “king/queen of sweets”!. But, you have a struggle with digesting a lot of animal proteins and fat. Also, a common fact for your group – you have a really sensitive gut and immunity system, so beware of that!

What should you eat if you’re a blood type B?

B-type people have a biiig appetite, but also – they can handle it! They have fast metabolism. Also, they’re keen for any kind of meat – this is the “omnivorous blood type” among humans.

They can enjoy all kinds of animal delicacies, such as pork, lamb, beef, but also don’t have any problem digesting green, leafy food and diary proteins. Basically, they’re the worse that could happen to an “all you can eat” buffet! However, they HAVE a weak spot – that’s nuts, like peanuts, walnuts, sesame seeds.

What should you eat if you’re a blood type AB?

People with a blood type AB are considered to have, biologically speaking, the most complex organisms. Hey are also often called “the enigma blood type”.

Speaking logically, if they are a sum-up between the type A and type B, they should eat everything these two blood types can as well. But that’s really not the case here. Out of meat protein, they’re best off with eating fish and seafood. Also, they’re really keen on eating lentils and seeds and legumes. However, they really should avoid beef, chicken, corn and kidney beans.

What should you eat if you’re a blood type O?

According to Dr. D’Adamo, people with blood type O are “fare best on…animal proteins and less well on dairy products and grains.” An interesting fact is that this blood types are commonly known as “the hunters”.
