NEVER SLEEP WITH YOUR PETS, DON’T RISK YOUR LIFE! HERE`S WHY.

AS REPORTED BY WEBMD, MANY PEOPLE CHOOSE TO SLEEP WITH THEIR PETS, NOT KNOWING THAT THIS HABIT COMES WITH A RISK OF MANY DISEASES, SUCH AS CHAGAS DISEASE AND BUBONIC PLAGUE AS WELL AS VARIOUS INFECTIONS. SPECIFICALLY, RESEARCHERS SAY THAT OF THE 250 DISEASE TRANSMITTED FROM ANIMALS TO HUMANS, OVER 100 OF THEM COME FROM PETS.

“Those cuddly pets harbor some icky germs, worms, and cooties, note Bruno B. Chomel, DVM, PhD, of the University of California, Davis, and Ben Sun, DVM, of the California Department of Health.”

MRSA

MRSA, a multi-drug resistant strain of strep is becoming very common in the United States. Both humans and dogs can carry the bug in their noses. There is a case of a couple who used to get MRSA infections very often, until the doctors eventually discovered that their dog slept in their bed. Tests of the dog were positive for MRSA. And once the dog was rid of the germ, the couple stopped getting MRSA infections.

People who own pets often let them sleep in their bed. As a matter of fact, out of the 53 percent people who own pet. 25 percent of women regularly sleep with then, while 16 percent of men admit to doing so.However, this seemingly habit turns out to be quite very risky, putting your life in danger. Pets are “hanging out” with their owners at all times, which is probably the major reason why people see them as their ideal partner. In fact, this relation goes to the extent that people forget about the fact that they are animals and let them adopt habits which are bad and even dangerous.

Moreover, people seem to be ignorant of the fact that sleeping with pets carries the risk of parasites. Therefore, make sure you de-worm on a regular basis in order to prevent them from multiplying inside the pet. Vaccinations are also an effective way to keep them healthy.

Most parasites transmit to humans, increasing the risk of developing a disease and causing premature death. This means that you should really do your best to prevent contamination and protect yourself from any disease.

Owning a pet comes with many responsibilities, such as feeding them, bathing them, and cleaning after them. Apart from these, you should apply the adequate vaccines as well. It is recommended to visit the vet on a regular basis and ensure your pet is healthy.

When it comes to deworming, cats and dogs should do it every 4 months and should be vaccinated in the first 6 months. Never miss any of the corresponding vaccines in order to immunize the pet properly!

To sum up, having a pet is a great thing and it comes with its own set of benefits, but sleeping with one is not a good idea. Reserve private places for your pet in the household and never let them go next to the bed. As explained by Bruno Chomel, a professor at the University of California school of veterinary medicine, ‘Having a stuffed animal in your bed is fine, not a real one.’
