Adding some coconut oil in the coffee provides an immune and energy boost!
REASONS TO ADD COCONUT OIL TO YOUR COFFEE:
-Coconut Oil Boosts the Immune System
Lauric acid constitutes about 50 percent of the fatty acids in coconut oil and it is known for its antimicrobial properties. This acid is used for treating, “viral infections including influenza (the flu); swine flu; avian flu; the common cold; fever blisters, cold sores, and genital herpes caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV); genital warts caused by human papillomavirus (HPV); and HIV/AIDS. It is also used for preventing the transmission of HIV from mothers to children.”
-Coconut Oil Increases the Energy Levels
As mentioned in the very beginning, coconut oil provides an energy boost. It consists of Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCTs), which are rapidly absorbed by the body and metabolized as fuel, rather than being stored as fat.
-Coconut Oil Speeds Up the Metabolism
Due to the fact that MCTs are effectively converted into fuel instead of being stored as fat, the consumption of coconut oil results in accelerated metabolism.
A group of researchers conducted a study in which 40 abdominal obese female volunteers between the ages of 20 and 40 were given 30 millimeters of either soybean or coconut oil. At the end of the 12-week study, it was found that women who were given coconut oil experienced a reduction in both BMI and waist circumference. In addition, they experienced an increase in HDL cholesterol.
These amazing results were not found in the women who were given soybean oil. “It appears that dietetic supplementation with coconut oil does not cause dyslipidemia and seems to promote a reduction in abdominal obesity. ”
