NATURAL WAYS TO WHITEN TEETH AT HOME

Do you have several hundred dollars lying around? Probably not… Not many people have the cash necessary to whiten your teeth at a dental office. It can seem like an outrageous cost! However, doing so can be the difference between getting a serious oral infection or periodontitis, and having a healthy set if teeth!

In saying that, even if you’re tired of yellow, stained teeth, the very thought of handing over your hard-earned wages to a wealthy dentist can be enough to make you put up with it!

You will be pleased to know that aside from dentist chair bleaching, there are other effective ways in which to achieve those pearly whites. There’s no denying that a dentist can do it quicker, but imagine if you could spend all that money on something else instead?

You will be amazed at what every day, natural solutions are available to have you smiling with confidence. Say goodbye to yellow and stained teeth with these 11 problem-solvers. Number 5 and 7 may even shock you…

1. Hydrogen Peroxide

For hundreds of years, a natural bleaching agent known as hydrogen peroxide has been in use as a bacteria killer and disinfectant. It has become commonplace in most dental whitening kits in recent years because it’s also useful for whitening your teeth.

You can buy over-the-counter whitening kits that contain hydrogen peroxide, and they will cost you a far sight less than an in-chair whitening session with your dentist. What’s more, there is plenty of research available that shows hydrogen peroxide is useful for bleaching

2. Water

Who would have thought that something that flows freely from your taps can prevent stains and whiten your teeth? It’s true, staying on top of your water consumption can do wonders for your pearly whites.

While water may not be able to undo stains already there, it can stop them from occurring in the future. Drink a glass of water every time you eat food or drink beverages that cause teeth staining. By doing so, you’re able to prevent new stains from taking hold.

3. Watch What You Consume

One of the most affordable ways to whiten your teeth naturally at home is by protecting them from stains in the first place! Watch what you eat and drink, and enjoy your pearly whites looking beautiful for longer.

Beverages you may like to avoid are soda, red wine, and coffee, while you may also wish to stay away from berries and tomatoes as well. If you intend on taking stain prevention one step further by brushing and flossing post-meal, wait at least 30 minutes to protect your enamel.

4. Brush and Floss Daily

Dentists have been drilling this into us since we were children – but the same rules apply. Brush and floss daily, and you will have fewer dental problems than if you didn’t. It’s that easy.

Pay particular attention to the food you consume and whether you should brush or floss after each meal. There can be a balancing act between cleaning too often and not enough.

You may find that brushing and flossing every day can reduce mouth bacteria and prevent plaque build-up too.

Oil Pulling

While the American Dental Association doesn’t believe in oil pulling as an effective and natural teeth whitening method, there is enough research to think it could be. What’s more, given it’s safe, what’s the harm in giving it a try?

Oil pulling is the process of rinsing your mouth out with sunflower, sesame, coconut oil. It is thought that it removes germs and bacteria, resulting in cleaner, whiter teeth.

You can give it a try by rinsing your mouth out with the oil of your choice for one minute. See if you notice any difference

6. Apple Cider Vinegar

It’s important to note that while many people use apple cider vinegar to whiten their teeth naturally, it’s not something you can use every day. The acid can erode your enamel and destroy your teeth.

The evidence is shaky for this vinegar, but several studies show it has had promising results – and may still in the future. Rinse your mouth out with apple cider vinegar for a minute, trying to avoid it being on your teeth for too long.
