All Natural DIY Mascara

The use of mascara dates back to ancient Egypt. Even though most mascara formulas contain the same basic formula – such as pigmentation, waxes, and oil – most of the commercial mascaras contain “other stuff” that is bad for skin health. Cosmetics are loosely regulated by the FDA. Also, some ingredients in commercial mascara are known to cause cancer in mice. Hence, most of the commercial mascara products are highly toxic to the human skin.

Allergic reactions are very common with most mascara users. These reactions are as a result of ingredients found in these products. Some of these ingredients include aluminum powder, methylparaben, benzyl alcohol, and ceteareth-20. That is where all-natural DIY mascara comes in handy. Here are some tips to consider when making an all-natural DIY mascara.

Homemade mascara will help you get rid of raccoon eye conditions once you start to sweat. Beeswax is an important ingredient in a homemade mascara. It makes the solution thicker and waterproof. The amount of beeswax you add to the mix will control the thickness of the substance. It will give you a thicker and waterproof mascara as a result. This all-natural mascara will perform a great job in separating, darkening, and conditioning your lashes. Your eyes will feel much better when you use such a product. It is not harmful to the skin and doesn’t have any side effects. That is why most people are shifting to all-natural cosmetic products these days.

The recipe is quite easy. All it requires is a few ingredients that can be found in most kitchens. You will need a long syringe to get the solution stuff into the blasted tube. Here is one of the best DIY all-natural mascara recipes for you to follow:

Ingredients for the Recipe – Two tablespoons of coconut oil, four tablespoons of aloe vera gel, one tablespoon of beeswax pellet, a clean container. If you are preparing black color mascara, add two capsules of activated charcoal to the mixture. On the other hand, if you decide to make brown mascara, add two tablespoons of cocoa powder to the mixture. If you live in a warm area, adding more beeswax will make the solution thicker and waterproof. Activated charcoal is available in most of the health food stores in your area or online. It is not the same stuff that is found on your grill.

How To Prepare The Mascara – Add coconut oil, grated beeswax, and the aloe vera gel into a small saucepan over low heat. Stir the solution until the wax is completely melted. Open the activated charcoal capsules and add to the mixture until you get the desired color. Stir until it is completely incorporated into the solution and remove from heat. Pour the mixture into a small plastic bag and push the solution into one corner of the bag. Make a small hole in the opposite corner of the bag. Fold the cut corner until you have a small tip to transfer the solution into the empty mascara tube.

The use of mascara dates back to ancient Egypt. Commercial mascaras come with harmful ingredients that can result in skin irritations and other conditions. That is where DIY all-natural mascara comes in handy. They are highly safe and natural without any side effects.
